TechEye – Windows XP is a security nightmare
While we might expect the Volista to recommend people upgrade to the lastest version of its software, Microsoft’s figures are so extreme it is difficult not to pay attention.
Microsoft said that Vista did better in the score but infection rates were still almost double that of a comparable Windows 7 based PC.
Apparently the most secure operating system in the Window’s stable is the 64 bit version of Windows 7.
This is apparently because Vole introduced “Kernel Patch Protection”, While this caused some anti-virus software to melt-down when it was introduced, it ultimately led to a more stable and secure operating system.
